There were tears during Marin and Trey’s private vows and personalized bills flying across the dance floor later that night. That gives you a pretty good introduction to these two. Their September Wychmere wedding brought together a rooftop ceremony at Dune, thoughtful coastal details and a crowd that came ready to celebrate. Photographing it meant paying attention to both the quieter exchanges and the energy they shared with everyone around them. There was plenty of each.

Their celebration was also featured on Wedding Chicks, which shared a closer look at the design and personal details woven throughout the day.
A Cape Cod Gathering for Marin and Trey
Marin spent childhood visits on Cape Cod, so choosing it for their destination Wychmere wedding brought a familiar place into this next part of their lives. Friends and family made the trip to celebrate alongside them.

That gathering was one of the things that stayed with me. Seeing the people who love Marin and Trey come together, away from their everyday lives, gave the celebration a real sense of occasion.
The morning began in two locations. Marin got ready at a local Airbnb in Harwich, while Trey and the guys prepared at Chatham Bars Inn. From there, the day brought everyone together at Wychmere.

Marin and Trey are fun, enthusiastic people, and that energy carried through the wedding. They were surrounded by a crowd that was clearly ready to meet them there.
The Emotion of Their Private Vows
Before the rooftop ceremony, Marin and Trey exchanged private vows along the shoreline.

The tears during that exchange are among my strongest memories of their wedding. Their genuine affection was evident, and having that time together gave them room for a quieter, deeply personal part of the day.
When I think back on photographing them, this is one of the moments I return to. Their connection was right there in their expressions and reactions.

For couples considering private vows, it’s worth thinking about whether you’d appreciate a little space to share those words together before gathering with your guests. For Marin and Trey, that exchange became a meaningful part of a day filled with people and celebration.

A Rooftop Ceremony at Dune
Their Wychmere wedding ceremony took place on Dune’s rooftop, with the water beyond and their loved ones gathered around them.

After their private vows, the ceremony brought everyone into the celebration. The setting gave the photographs a clear sense of place, while the people surrounding Marin and Trey gave them their meaning.
The day flowed well, allowing that transition from time together to celebrating with their guests to feel easy. The rooftop ceremony was part of a wedding they could settle into and enjoy.

Coastal Details With a Personal Connection
Blue and white hydrangeas by Beach Plum Floral carried the coastal palette through the celebration. Marin’s French lace Galia Lahav gown added texture, while the invitation suite introduced the day’s design.

Among the most personal details were the decoupaged shells handmade by Marin’s mother. Used as table accents and guest favors, they brought something made by family into the reception.
Those are the details that give a wedding its own character. Guests could appreciate the shells as part of the table design and take one home afterward, carrying a small piece of the celebration with them.

Personalized Bills, Glow Sticks and a Full Dance Floor
By the reception, Marin and Trey were ready to dance. So were their guests.

With Danny T of City Event Group providing the music, the dance floor had plenty of energy. Add glow sticks and money guns shooting custom bills featuring Marin and Trey’s photographs, and you get a pretty clear picture of how these two wanted to celebrate.
Those bills flying through the room were a particularly memorable touch, personal to the couple and completely suited to the party they wanted.
The energy came from the people. Marin and Trey brought their enthusiasm onto the dance floor, and their friends and family joined right in.

That’s how I remember their wedding: genuine emotion, thoughtful details and a celebration with plenty of personality.
