The rain was falling as Marina and Austin saw each other for the first time, down the aisle at Glen Manor House. Marina had her heart set on an outdoor ceremony, so the Glen Manor and Russell Morin teams gathered as many umbrellas as they could for the guests. The rain eased just before the ceremony ended.

Later, the umbrellas gave way to a packed dance floor, a bride changing into a shorter dress, and half the groomsmen joining Austin shirtless. Their Portsmouth wedding held both scenes comfortably: a ceremony that stayed true to Marina’s vision and a reception that showed just how much fun these two knew how to have.
A June Wedding in Portsmouth
Marina and Austin both got ready at Airbnb homes in Newport, then traveled by trolley to Glen Manor House. The day brought together a waterfront setting, bright florals and a lively group of family and friends.

The details in the photographs include views by the dock and a colorful bouquet that echoed the flowers and citrus fruit on the reception tables. The choices gave the day a vivid feel that suited the celebration.
I wasn’t able to locate a call transcript or notes that explain why Marina and Austin chose Glen Manor. I’ve left that personal connection out rather than guess.
An Outdoor Glen Manor Ceremony in the Rain
As the ceremony began, the rain was still falling lightly. Guests watched beneath umbrellas while Marina and Austin exchanged vows on the lawn. A few minutes before the ceremony ended, the rain stopped.

Rain can change the rhythm of a wedding day, but it doesn’t have to take away the parts you care about most. Marina wanted to be married outside, and the venue and catering team worked with the conditions to make that possible. From my side, I was ready to pivot with the weather and keep the day moving without letting the stress land on the couple.

If you’re planning an outdoor Portsmouth wedding, it helps to talk through weather options with your venue and planner before the day. The right choice depends on your priorities and the conditions in the moment. For Marina and Austin, staying outdoors meant getting the ceremony they wanted, even with a little rain.

Colorful Florals and Citrus Details
The florals brought color across the day, from Marina’s bouquet to the tables, where flowers were paired with citrus fruit. A photograph of the signed marriage certificate captures another small piece of the ceremony: the moment their vows became official.

Photo placement: Use MarinaAustinMarried-694 for the marriage certificate and MarinaAustinMarried-764 for the colorful bouquet and dress-change look, as identified in the questionnaire. The other reviewed filenames can be considered for the ceremony, Newport preparations, dock views and reception once their contents are matched against the full gallery.

A Dance Floor That Kept Building
Shortly after the dance floor opened, Marina changed into the shorter dress seen in the gallery. The energy kept climbing. At one point, Austin and half the groomsmen had taken their shirts off and joined the party.

Then Marina’s sister appeared during the toasts dressed as a priest, prompting a round of laughter. It was a perfectly unexpected moment in a day full of personality.

That’s what I remember about photographing Marina and Austin: they were ready to enjoy the day as it unfolded. When the weather called for a change of plan, they could keep celebrating. By the reception, they and their friends had taken over the dance floor.
